Earth Hour Update!

So we did it.
We turned off all the lights and we left the house πŸ˜‰ We went to the beach to go look at the stars. We trundled down there with a telescope and a tripod. I snuck in enough candles to make a 60 in the sand and light it and a cash card to buy coffee. As we were walking Matt pointed out that the sky was actually very cloudy and not to conducive to Star watching. it’s a shame because we’d taken our New Astrologer book down and were looking forward to having a squiz at Vela in the MilkyWay! At least I had my candles πŸ™‚

We ended up having to dig a big troth for them to sit in to protect them from what was a very soft breeze which kept blowing them out. It was fun though. We then sat, on the beach, with candles and chatted about work, what’s next, how we wished our friends were here sitting around the candles drinking whiskey (and probably having a good laugh at our attempts to look at stars on a cloudy night and light candles on a breezy beach. On a plus note we now know that Davis will definitely need votives and holders for any shin dig near a beach πŸ˜‰ I’ll call that research! πŸ™‚ I can also see a candle light party coming on and the question “Are you a keeper or a burner?” ah those were the days! πŸ˜‰

Ok Well, I promised some piccies so here goes…
