Quadratic and Other Polynominals

Yes… I know… Maths…

I’m sat in a year 11 maths lesson and I’m trying very hard not to interrupt the year 11s (12 in the uk) from their task. Mostly, because it sounds terrifying! I am sure it’s not! In desperation I did introduce them to this which terrified me even more! – Although Watch Know is AWESOME!

I’ve been a busy girl over the past few weeks and so can only apologise for my lack of communications with you. I’ve been training, supply teaching TRT’ing, contacting POD (Publish on Demand) to get my book finally sorted.  I’m getting close with that task too! (Exciting!), Booking flights in and out of Milan and the UK, Organising accommodation for big ol’ conferences in Melbourne, organizing myself for the training days i’m delivering…  Blah blah blah.  Needless to say, I haven’t had a lot of time  to report any of this small achievements to you all.

There has been a fair bit of big news in our house.  LOF has finally handed in his notice so that he can take on a business of his own fulltime.  We’ve booked and paid for a stand at a mahooosive Aftermarket show in Melbourne so we can launch the product together. He’s being funded by my Dad (who’s product this is) to see if he can get it going in Australia and I have every faith that he can 🙂 He’ll be awesome at it 🙂 and we’ll be millionaires in no time!

Of course, that does mean that we’re both self-employed and so the purchase of a house has been placed on hold.  I’m still hoping that a contract will come through from the local uni and I can start work as a pedagogical officer on the TTF project soon but floods, fires and cyclones have meant that government funding has been moved around a fair bit this year so what should have started almost 9 weeks ago still hasn’t begun. I’m remaining positive that it will happen though and I’m flying to Melbourne in June (just before coming to N8’s wedding) to attend a big ol’ meeting; that’s got to be promising? I’ll be the ICTPO in the little red box completing research and working with lectures to achieve 1-3 and writing a report on it 🙂 Should be awesome.. once it starts.

Reading N8’s blog just makes me feel guilty though… I dont’ think I’ve made to the gym in over a month and a half! (oops ) and she’s not only surviving by kicking ass in a class that actually used to bring us close to death in the UK.. She has clearly turned into somekind of super woman.  When I see her in 70 days (yay) i’m afraid that i will appear as a giant blimp next to her!!  I reckon I’m gonna have to see her posts as a challenge and try one of those spinny classes myself (GOD HELP ME! I have NO personal trainer to build me up to it!).

I have tried to convince Matt that what we need is a Kinect and an Xbox 360 so I can buy and use the Zumba game on it.  That would clearly be just as much of a work out *clears throat*.  But for some reason he thinks it’s just a fad and I’ll not use it after a few months.  Even though Pete and C have been working hard to prove him wrong with their Xbox he is still remaining frugal and not letting us spend money on such things! (Fair enough I guess)

Anyway i should keep students on task… sshhhhh.

    Hi Mochinbach,

I hope you don’t mind me getting in touch. I found your details on your blog and I hope you might be able to help me with my strange request…

I am a Producer working on a television show called House Hunters International which follows English speaking expats in their quest to purchase a house abroad. I wonder if you or any of your expat contacts might be interested in getting involved?! Please find a little blurb about the show below:

House Hunters International is a half-hour program currently airing on the Home and Garden Television Network (HGTV) in America.
The series is designed to de-mystify the international home-buying process by going behind the scenes of a house hunt where buyers and their real estate agents tour 3 homes.

At its core, House Hunters International is a travel show concentrating on the idiosyncrasies of the locales and what makes them special and different.

You can watch some examples of the show here:

Please get in touch if you have any more questions about the show. I look forward to hearing from you!

    Best wishes and many thanks,

    Michelle
